Having worked as a General Manager for the Smiths City Group, and then running More FM in Christchurch for a stint he thought it time to jump into the world of self-employment. After looking around at several options, NZHL was the perfect fit after already being a client for a couple of years.  The idea of helping Cantabrians manage their largest expense and learning a new industry was highly appealing.

Joining in 2008 smack in the middle of the global financial crisis made the NZHL proposition so much more important. Buying the business in 2009 was the best thing ever, as many of the company’s clients required a lot of help and the team stepped up with this, particularly in the Chch EQ era.

The office relocated in 2020 from its previous location in Riccarton to Papanui a great community close to great coffee shops and the Merivale bars. When not in the office or visiting potential new clients at home, he is at the gym, running to keep in shape or venturing into the city to explore. With two grown-up daughters and a couple of Mums in town family is King and they are never too far away from each other.
